Bachelor or Computer Application (BCA), a 3 years degree honours course, is one of the popular courses among the students who want to make their career in the IT field.
Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT), a member institution under Techno India Group, offers BCA Honours since year 2001. This course is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT, formerly known as WBUT).
Eligibility:
As per the guidelines of MAKAUT, all students who have qualified Class XII (Science/Commerce/Arts) are eligible to take admission in BCA if they have Mathematics/ Business-Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer-Science/ Computer Application/ Information Practices, any one, as subject combination.
Duration of the Course:
The duration of the BCA course is 3 years and divided into 6 semesters.
Course Fee:
The course fee of BCA is inclusive of Training, Seminar, Workshops as well as other fees like fresher’s well come, farewell, Tech fest etc.

Our department arranges several Campus-Interviews, through which students are placed in different IT companies. As BCA is a 3 years honours degree course, students are also eligible for various Government jobs as well as join into teaching profession.
Moreover not only depending on jobs, students may start their own initiative. Department arranges various training program on recent technologies to make them self-reliant. SIT has a dedicated Entrepreneurship Cell that nourishes the entrepreneurship ability among students.
- Scope of Higher Studies:
After completion of BCA, student may pursue Master of Compute Application (MCA) a 2 years Master Degree Course equivalent to B.Tech. BCA students may also pursue Master of Business Administration (MBA) or M.Sc. in IT.
