Message from Head of the Department
The mission of Department of BBA, Siliguri Institute of Technology is to establish well researched and realistic business and technical practices to enable the students to meet the challenges of Modern era which is marked Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. We strongly believe that a blend of relevant knowledge, skill and right attitude is essential for overall development of students which will help them to become socially responsible, innovative and result oriented leaders. The BBA degree programme is divided into six semesters. It includes core papers, discipline specific electives, generic electives and skill enhancement courses. Discipline specific electives offered from fifth semesters are in the following streams: Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management. Eminent faculties of BBA department bring diverse teaching experiences from some of the finest learning institutions and corporate experience. What brings them together is their deep commitment to future budding professionals and their pursuit of excellence as educators. The department aims to impart value-based education along with the holistic development of the students to work in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment. This is achieved through experiential learning by an array of activities like Business Plan Development, Social responsibility projects, outcome training, case study, role playing, management games, simulation exercises, grooming sessions. The students get hands on experience in the corporate world through internship projects with reputed organization. Today, our alumni serve at different leadership positions in the various private, public, multinational, government and non-profit organizations. Some of the alumni have turned up as entrepreneurs and maximum have chosen higher studies in management. We continue forward in the true spirit of ability driven education. Eligibility Criteria for BBA
As per the guidelines of MAKAUT, all students who have qualified Class XII (Science/Commerce/Arts) are eligible to take admission in BBA.

Startup Challenge STARTUP CHALLENGE is one of the long-running Business Baazigar events in SIT. This year 52 participants from all over the region competed with their Startup Ideas. The legacy of 25 years of imparting quality education became the cornerstone of this mega event under TECHNOVISION 2K24.	Just a Minute Session JAM activities are a part of the interview curriculum of many renowned institutions as well as companies. BBA students participated actively and won prizes in a JAM session organized by SIT.	AD MAD SIT organized the AD MAD show which is a fun and creative competition where teams from BBA dept. created and presented advertisements for various products and services.
SIT-Industry Expert Talk Series In an immersive SIT-Industry Expert Talk Series by experienced corporates and Chief Govt. Officials, the students were provided with practical knowledge and industry insights. through an interactive session on Financial Awareness.	BHASHATHON The department of BBA organized Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav, named "Bhashathon" as per the guidelines of UGC. The aim of the event was to promote regional languages through our students i.e. BHASHAYE ANEK, BHAV EK.	Industry-Institute Interface BBA organized Industry-Institute Interface by corporate experts. It was a practical session to boost management students, generating a linkage between students and industries.
Guest Speaker Session An enlightening session of by corporate guest Mr. Sounak Chakraborty (Manager Learning and Development (North East Cluster) Mayfair Tea Resort- Siliguri.	Alumni Interaction SIT has completed the 25 years of academic excellence. Recently, BBA organized an alumni interaction with the students to enlighten the students with the emerging job demands.	Club Activity Outreach Activity of "Helping hands" Management Club of BBA on women Health and distribution of necessary medicines in association with Medica North Bengal Clinic at Mohurgong & Gulma Tea Estate.
