Message from Head of the Department
I take this opportunity to welcome you all to be part of BBA-HM program of Siliguri Institute of Technology. We aim to remain at the forefront of learning, teaching, and research. We also strive hard to promote academic excellence and are committed in creating an environment that encourages creativity and innovation. The Department of Hospital Management, SIT, is one of the latest additions to the areas of Professional Studies provided by the Institute. The Department started the bachelor’s degree in Hospital Management since the year 2019. It has the vision to evolve into a centre of excellence for teaching, learning and research in the field of Hospital Administration and Management. I am delighted to inform that the department is built on the strength of well-experienced and qualified faculties, who are devoted to teaching in the forever evolving environment. All faculty members of the department are having post-graduate qualification with research experience and vast exposure to the healthcare industry. Here the students are being trained to manage various sectors of Healthcare Industry, such as Private and Government Hospitals, Health Centers, Hospices, Wellness centers, Diagnostic centers, Health Insurance sector, Medical Equipments and Healthcare Consultancies. With increased demand in industry, we aim to groom our students, not just academically but also in various co-curricular activities to help them cope with the industry standards & avail the best placement opportunities. All modern teaching modalities such as Smart Classroom, E-learning, Computer and Language labs, one-to-one mentoring, Project guidance etc. are integral part of the department. Regular industrial visits, internships, minor projects, seminars, guest lectures, webinars are some of the common departmental activities. In addition, the BBA-HM department runs various social welfare activities along with Industry-Institute partnership activities such as Health check-up camps, Awareness Programs, Community Based Programs, Project works and Lifestyle Management Programs. The department is also actively involved and strongly committed to capacity building and human resources development in Hospital Administration. The department holds strong liaison with all top healthcare providers of the country. Our department has already placed our students in Neotia Getwell Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Medica North Bengal Clinic, Star Health Insurance, Galaxy Hospital, Khlorys Neotia Mediplus, Asian Institute of Nephrology & Urology, etc., few amongst our top recruiters. Today, Alumni of our department are serving at the leading positions in private, public, government, and non-profit organizations. Eligibility Criteria for BBA-HM
As per the guidelines of MAKAUT, all students who have qualified Class XII (Science/Commerce/Arts) with minimum 50% aggregate marks are eligible to take admission in BBA-HM.

Med-Arch 2025: Where Creativity Meets Care! The Department of Hospital Management has successfully wrapped up "Med-Arch," a creative model-making competition showcasing innovative designs of key hospital departments like the outpatient department, inpatient department, operation theatre unit, pharmacy, dietary department, and paediatric ward, to name a few, focusing on smart space planning and the latest designing techniques showcasing futuristic hospital designs. The event was judged by leading architects from the region.

25TH SILVER JUBILEE HEALTH CARE CAMP On the occasion of the 25th year silver jubilee concluding celebration, the hospital administration department organizes an on-campus health care camp in collaboration with Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital and Neotia Multispecialty Hospital.
SCHOOL VISIT SAINT DOMINIC SCHOOL, JAIGAON Visit to SAINT DOMINIC SCHOOL JAIGAON on (11th of September 2024)for promoting “Basic life support training” hands on learning techniques among the school childrens the event was fun filled & eventful.
The BBA Hospital Management department at Siliguri Institute of Technology held a one-day seminar on "Rights to Health" 30.04.2024 to commemorate the era of healthcare accessible in the presence of recognised healthcare professionals from the government and corporate sector. The purpose of this programme was to examine effective strategies and initiatives for promoting and protecting the right to health, as well as gather experiences from individuals and communities affected by a lack of access to essential health care. This experience will be valuable in educating students about the current state of the healthcare business

Awareness Program on Basic Life Support --- Department of Hospital Management celebrated World Health Day 2023 with this workshop. It organized in collaboration with Maharaja Agrasen Hospital & conducted the program where hands on training on Basic Life Saving Skills has been provided to the participants.
