About Department :
The Department of Hospital Management, SIT, is one of the latest additions to the areas of Professional Studies provided by the Institute. The Department started the Bachelor’s Degree in Hospital Management (BBA HM) program since the year 2019.It has the vision to evolve into a Center of Excellence for teaching, training, and research in the field of Hospital Administration and Management.
All faculty members of the Department are having Post Graduate qualification with Research experience and vast exposure to the industry. Here the students are being trained to manage various sectors of Healthcare Industry, such as Private and Government Hospitals, Health Centers, Hospices, Wellness Centers, Diagnostic Centers, Health Insurance Sectors, Medical Equipments, and Healthcare Consultancies.
All modern teaching modalities such as Smart Classroom, E-learning ,Computer and Language Labs, One to one mentoring, Project guidance etc. are integral part of department .Regular industrial visits, internships, mini projects seminars, guest lecturers, webinars are some of the common departmental activities. In addition the BBA HM Department runs various social welfare activities along with Industry–Institute Partnership activities such as Health Check –up camps, Awareness Programs, Community Based Programs, Project works and Life style Management Programs.
The Department is also actively involved and strongly committed to capacity building and human resources development in Hospital Administration at National and International stages. The course BBA –HM is an industry oriented course with full support from the Central Placement Cell of the institution and holds strong liaison with all top Healthcare providers of the country. Apollo Hospitals, Fortis, Medanta Narayana, Neotia Healthcare,Religare, Star Health Insurance ,West Bengal State Govt.MOHFW,NRHM, NUHM, UNICEF, UN funded NGOs are few amongst the top recruiters of the students of Hospital Management Department.
