The only intention of an association is to promote the spirit of loyalty and the general welfare of the associated Institution. Sole aim of the Alumni association is to support the Institution’s goals, its Vision and Mission and to strengthen the ties between alumni, the community and the Industry.
Primarily, the embedded attributes of the Alumni Association are twofold:
-
Enthusiasm and Willingness of its members to take on the Institutional initiative for Sustenance.
-
Interest of a reasonable nucleus of alumni of the Institution to participate in the association’s activities.
In line with the above perspectives Siliguri Institute of Technology has recently set up its Alumni Association and Registered with Govt. of West Bengal under Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961 as “SIT Alumni Association” bearing Registration No. S0008535 of 2019-2020.
Being an alumnus /ae of the Institution, the leader of the alumni association, to be selected/ elected by the alumnae, should also have the following characteristics:
• Willingness to work with the Institution.
• Willingness to contribute time
• Enthusiasm
• Ability to motivate and engage alumni
To start with, a committee has been formed and also constituted the associated By-laws. Outline of Alumni/Alumnae Association By-Laws is as follows:
-
Objectives
-

-
Regular committees; duties and functions of committees
-
Meetings and programs; general timing of meetings
-
Dues; members to association, control of funds
