Students Outreach Program on 05.05.2023
To commemorate Budddha Purnima, MBA First Year students organised an outreach program on 05.05.2023 at Shri Shri Jogananda Ashram, Ward no 28, Tikiapara Siliguri , an orphanage managed by Swami Jibon Maharaj. Students offered the lunch and ration for a month along with some consumable items for the in-mates of the ashram.
Industrial Visit at ALKEM Laboratories Ltd, Sikkim for the students of MBA
On 26th April 2023, students of MBA 2nd semester got an opportunity to visit the production plant of Alkem Laboratories Limited at Rongpo, Sikkim. During their visit following industry experts of Alkem Lab explained different functional units of the shop floors

Farewell Program of MBA 2022 Pass out students
On 20.06.2022 at Departmental Lobby of MBA, a farewell program was organised to bid adieu to the final year students. It was a gala get-together of final year students before they finally depart from the department where students shared their journey from the institute to the corporate world which motivated the junior students to take up the newer upcoming challenges of life. Keep takeaways by the attendees were like seniors shared their experience and juniors gathered information from their immediate seniors. Regional Seminar on "Commodity Derivatives" organsed by Department of Business Administration in association with Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) India Ltd.
On 10th May 2022, Tuesday at Siliguri Institute of Technology, Department of Business Administration organized “Regional Seminar on Commodity Derivatives” in association with Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) India Ltd. Keynote Address was given by Mr. Kinjal Ghosh, Deputy General Manager, Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) explaining how Commodity Derivatives act as investment tools that allow investors to earn profit from certain commodities without possessing them physically. The buyer of a derivatives contract buys the right to exchange a commodity for a certain price at a future date. The buyer may be buying or selling the commodity. Mr. Sanjib Gain, Manager-BD, MCX India Limited motivated the students of Management studies to try their theoretical knowledge with small investments in commodity derivatives through MCX to get the practical exposure.

Mr. Bhaskar Sanyal, Director & Head of Sales, Tata Consultancy Services, UK / Europe. Mr. Bhaskar Sanyal started his corporate career with Tata Sons in Calcutta. Thereafter he joined the shipping industry with Jardene Matheson after shifting his base to Singapore. Sensing better career opportunity in the IT sector and to satisfy his professional appetite, he joined SAP as Managing Consultant in March 2000. After working there for a little over 5 years he joined IBM Global Services as Program Manager for Shell, based at Singapore as well as Bangalore. His next stint was with Wipro Technologies where he spent next 3 years. His next career stop has been TCS since 2012 where he has been working in various senior positions. capacities. Currently he holds the position of Director & Head of Sales, UK & Europe for TCS.
Topic of Expert Talk:
Mr. Sanyal interacted with the students giving some valuable inputs on importance of cloud computing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, Net Zero, Crypto currency etc in the context of transformation of modern business scenarios. Students were highly enthusiastic to get updated with the information of different probable risks associated with digitalization of business practices. Mr. Sanyal explained the opportunities for the professionals dealing with cyber securities to combat the cyber crimes. Students were eager to know the avenues of business practices adapting the modern digital technologies. Mr. Sanyal elaborately described the business practices followed by Tata Sons across the globe.
In this event Prof (Dr) Mithun Chakraborty, Principal Siliguri Institute of Technology, Dr. Shuvendu Dey, HOD MBA , Mrs. Paramita Choudhury, HOD BBA , all professors of Department of Business Administration and around 150 students of MBA & BBA were present.

On Monday, 21st February 2022 , Department of Business Administration (MBA Wing) observed the day with thought provoking expert lecture session along with conducting Business Game and Business Quiz.

Prof George Thadathil SDB : Presently he is the Principal of Salesian College Sonada and Siliguri Campus. He is the author of Vision from the Margin: Study of the Sri Narayana Guru Movement in the Literature of Nitya Chaitanya Yati (2007) and has edited and co-edited books like Communities and Identity Consciousness: South Indian Trajectories (2004), Cultural Identity in Nepali Language and Literature (2005), Subaltern Perspectives: Philosophizing in Context (2005), Cultural Linguistic Transitions in the Nepali Speech Community of Darjeeling (2009), Teesta on the Run: Development Induced Displacement in Sikkim 1975-2010 (2016), Brahmarshi Narayana Guru (Translation from Malayalam to Nepali, 2016). His publications are the outcome of an attempt to apply the research findings in South India (social Movement) onto the Language and Ethnicity based identity formations in Darjeeling District, North East India. He has taught the basic courses in philosophy at the undergraduate level for over twenty years. His latest work on the Guru is "The Transformative Power of the One World Vision of Sri Narayana Guru" in Vinay Lal (ed) India and Civilizational Futures Backwaters Collective on Metaphysics and Politics II, New Delhi: Oxford University Press, 2019,pp. 240-260.

Business Game: Newspaper Exercise was done by dividing the whole audience into 8 different groups each having 10 members in a group. The Economic Times newspaper were supplied to each group. The task was to identify maximum number of innovative business opportunities from the given newspaper by the group members. The team comprising of Sayan Kundu, Saurav Tiwari, Raj Prasad Saha, Prodyut Ray, Chandan Kundu, Prasenjit Paul, Susamay Dey, Prabir Aich, Soumyajyoti Kar and Bhaskar Barman won the game scoring ten points.
Business Quiz: Thirty questions with multiple choice options on different current business affairs were given to the groups as formed during business game. Total 10 minutes were given.
All winning team members were felicitated with prizes.
