Meri LIFE Tree Plantation Drive 2023 || Siliguri Institute of Technology

Siliguri Institute of Technology has organised a Massive Tree plantation drive under the AICTE mandate of  Meri LIFE Tree Plantation Drive 2023 with wholehearted participation from students, faculty and staff of more than 60 on 16th June 2023 at the SIT campus. The enthusiasm observed among the students and the staff to increase the greenery in the campus was overwhelming. This has also spreaded the awareness of  Afforestation.

The tree Plantation Programme was inaugurated by the Honourable Principal Dr. Mithun Chakraborty by planting saplings in the campus. He also spoke on how planting trees helps to regulate the temperature and absorb all the carbon dioxide from the air as the trees help to make the surroundings greener and how trees serve as homes to many birds and animals. He also suggested that every student should at least plant one tree per year.
