♦ Meri LIFE Tree Plantation Drive 2023

Siliguri Institute of Technology has organised a Massive Tree plantation drive under the AICTE mandate of Meri LIFE Tree Plantation Drive 2023 with wholehearted participation from students, faculty and staff of more than 60. The enthusiasm observed among the students and the staff to increase the greenery in the campus was overwhelming. This has also spreaded the awareness of Afforestation. The tree Plantation Programme was inaugurated by the Honourable Principal Dr. Mithun Chakraborty by planting saplings in the campus. He also spoke on how planting trees helps to regulate the temperature and absorb all the carbon dioxide from the air as the trees help to make the surroundings greener and how trees serve as homes to many birds and animals. He also suggested that every student should at least plant one tree per year.  |

♦ Hands on Winter Boot Camp
Siliguri Institute of Technology organises 03 days “Hands-on” Winter Boot Camp named “Ignition to Innovate” for high school students of ICSE, CBSE, ISC, WB Board from 18 th January to 20 th January 2023. A total of 75 students have registered for the boot camp exceeding the seat limit of 60. All the participating students have enjoyed the learn with fun in the boot camp. Areas of training were “Build Your Own Robo, Learn about Powering the World, Backbone of Civilization, Hands-on Electronics system design, Cook your story, Business Quiz and Management Game-storming etc. The entire program was organized under the banner of Corporate Social Responsibility of the Institute. Observing the everlasting demand of the participants the institute has decided to take the organization of boot camp further.

Day visit of Ambassador Dr. Deepak Vohra at Siliguri Institute of Technology
Ambassador Dr. Deepak Vohra, Special Advisor to Prime Ministers of Lesotho, South Sudan and Guinea-Bissau and to Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils Leh and Kargil, visited the campus on 15th Nov 2022 for a Motivational Speech.
Dr. Deepak Vohra spent the entire day in thecampus. In the forenoon Dr. Vohra visited TIGPS, Siliguri where he delivered 3 separate sessions for the school children and in the afternoon session he visited the SIT where he delivered two separate sessions for the students and one for the faculty and staff. The entire student, faculty fraternity were very much energized by the speech of Dr. Deepak Vohra on "OUR WORLD @ 2025" and "Kashmir : The journey Resumes". We have also conducted a press conference for Dr. Deepak Vohra, where he shared the vision of India to be a developed nation by 2047.

12th August 2022
  Siliguri Institute of Technology celebrated 75 years of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 12th August 2022 by conducting Quiz and Art and Painting competition among students of different schools in Siliguri.The theme for Quiz competition was “Incredible India” and Art and painting competition was “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”. All together 55 students participated with lots of enthusiasm and fervour in different categories of the competition. Total No. Participates (Students) – 55 from Different Schools of Siliguri

 Finally TIGPS Siliguri emerged as the winners  and runners up in the Quiz contest. Campion school bagged the winners prize in art and paper painting competition and TIGPS bagged the runners up in paper painting competition. The program paved the way for knowing and discovering India through young minds.

At Siliguri Institute of Technology, Siliguri, an expert Lecture Session was organised in association with Institutions Innovation Council , MHRD Innovation Cell, Government of India. Resource person of the seminar was Prof(Dr) Goutam Chatterjee, Senior Engineering Academician and Administrator. Dr. Chatterjee was commissioned in Aeronautical Engineering branch of Indian Air Force. In the capacity of Director, Dr. Chatterjee was associated with numerous Engineering and Technological Institute after taking premature retirement from IAF.  In the seminar Dr. Chatterjee shared his experience on how strategic policies are to be adopted by the companies to enhance their brand values in Management Session and Technology led way of doing business: Web 3.0 in Technology session.
More than 250 students attended the expert Lecture Sessions with lots of enthusiasm to gather knowledge on out of thinking.
